      1. @deadmadness665 It actually stands for "Extended Play". Longer than a single, shorter than an album.

        2. @mrmattimation It's interesting because there isn't a standardized definition of what constitutes as "album" length. Also, they're lesser known but "mini-LPs" exist which are just defined as short albums (The Pixies's first album is a good example of this, it only clocks in at around 20 minutes). Moreso, EPs don't have a defined length either other than "shorter than LPs and longer than singles" (a good example of this spectrum is the long running series of 'Super Roots' EPs that Boredoms have put put, ranging anywhere from around 15 minutes to over an hour in length). Ultimately, what defines an EP as opposed to an LP is pretty interesting because it's not concrete, so it's pretty much always contextual.
