@renovatedkitchen It's weird. When I went to the pony meetup at MCM I couldn't stand it. Obnoxious shouting, hassling people, way too much unwanted physical contact. All the crap that got the homestuck fandom banned from holding meetups there actually. Yet, when I went to a pony meetup last weekend, I had a really good time with everyone, and even made a new friend! There's some other factor at work there, I think.

@ceruleanspark I don't think I'd be able to stand that level of "touchiness." I'm all for love and tolerance, but c'mon man... you gotta draw some boundaries somewhere.

@ceruleanspark its probably a classic case of the idiot over-fans who kill the whole fandom while the REAL fans look on and cry. If you are with the real fans, it is an awesome time. Over-fans? Not so much.

@ceruleanspark could just be the difference between people who just like the show and people who connect with other people because they love to help others. And they love the show on top of that. But lots of the "bronies" there really put me off. The only ones that actually seemed to have a friendly vibe were a girl dressed as chrysalis, another as pinkie, there was one that was dressed as Celestia, but I felt like she was under stress/was going through something bad and there was also the creator of minty fresh adventures, a guy who made plushies and @techdisk42
