@northernnarwhal I've played a lot of it actually, but it's nothing special. And it's a cherrying dead game, literally 90% of the community doesn't even play the game on a competitive level and those who do are elitist jackasses who think it's the best fighting game of all time

@rarity Ahh. I've mostly heard that the engine is pretty well programmed and that the game itself is really responsive. I never ended up getting it because a)Although it looks nice objectively I'm personally not really a fan of the visuals, something about the art style just doesn't agree with me

@northernnarwhal IT's honestly a fun game to play, but it's nothing special and there are quite a few issues with the engine (for starters the infinite detection system is apple and kicks you out of legitimate combos). It's just got a terrible community is the main problem though

@rarity Out of those 3 I've heard of Guilty Gear and Under Night In-Birth but I haven't played any of them. I was planning on getting Under Night In-Birth at one point but never did, though the game looks pretty fun. I've had a handful of bad experiences with competitive Smash players I've met in the past so I have a bad taste in my mouth for the community, though I still the franchise itself.

@northernnarwhal Smash community reminds me of the kind of people that go to EDM festivals. Everyone is friendly and nice on the surface but there can be some real monsters trying to do bad things to people surreptitiously.

@rarity Yeah, that's a pretty good way of putting it. It doesn't help when you encounter several bad eggs after another too. I dunno, I guess I find there's also a really pervasive air of elitism among them too? I found that some people are like IDM fans at your metaphorical EDM concert who've just come to make snide remarks at everyone else.

@northernnarwhal oh yeah, smash community is hella elitist. They think they are better than other FG players, so as a result a lot in the FGC apple on Smash as a kids game that isn't competitive. It's a vicious cycle

@rarity It's definitely one of the more insular communities in gaming, though a lot of gaming communities are pretty insular. Also I still have a working PS3 so I'll consider getting UNIBEL.

@northernnarwhal She's pretty good against characters like Carmine because of her long range lockdown. Anyone with a good invincible reversal can get up in her face and make her life hell though

@northernnarwhal yeah, that's why. He's got normals almost as fast and long as Hilda, without her weakness up close. If anything he's even stronger up close. And the "GURIMU REEPA" attack is incredibly invincible. You can win against a decent player if you just mash that

@northernnarwhal the guy looks pretty decent. She's not bad, just very hard to use because she's a stance character, i.e. if you hold down a button it changes how her other buttons work

@rarity Gordeau reminds me a lot of Kratos in Play Station All Stars in that there are a few certain attacks you can exploit and just break the game. PSAS is hella unbalanced though, but it's fun with friends if you're playing non-competitively.

@rarity Eh, I've only played it because my older brother bought it around the time it came out. It's not bad. As I said before it's fun if you're playing it casually with friends but it would never work at a competitive level.
