Monday, 25-May-15 16:33:11 UTC from web-
@ayaarale yep
-
@mushi okay. cool i haven't been on in years so...lol.
-
@ayaarale well, i dont remember you
-
@mushi its okay. i wasn't that active lol.
-
@ayaarale well, anyway, welcome back =D
-
@mushi thanks! :D
-
@ayaarale anyway, how you're doing?
-
@mushi good. working on my portfolio (graphic design). for once I have a week off from work.
-
@ayaarale well, having time off is always nice
-
@mushi definitely. especially before summer. i work in retail so it will be crazy.
-
@ayaarale oh, i feel sorry for you D=
-
@mushi its cool. been doing this for years. on the bright side, i do get some good perks from my job.
-
@ayaarale well, at least you got a job and is not a broke post graduation student like me
-
@mushi I wish I would work in what I got my BFA in but. no.
what did you study? I did fashion design. but now I'm doing a graphic design certification.
I just started a second job recently. I'm hoping it will become my primary income source. -
@ayaarale last semester i graduated in chemistry, now i'm post graduating in physical chemistry. Up untill the last semester i had a scientific iniciation scholarship, but it is over now
-
@mushi thats cool. so I'm guessing no luck in the job field? :/
that was my problem. I'd have to move out of state but I can't afford to. -
@ayaarale well, the thing is that my city (brasília) has no industry, and i cant teach because i'm not licenciate, what i could and wanted to do was to become a researcher, but for that i will need at least a doctor degree, an that will take at least 6 more years
-
@mushi oh i see. you're from Brazil. I guess its a lot different there. :(
-
@ayaarale well, my city happens to be a bad place for chemists
-
@mushi where i live isn't exactly the perfect for fashion. so i feel you.
-
@ayaarale well, i'd imagine that it would be harder for a fashion designer to find a place.
-
@mushi yep. so I'm trying to work as a graphic designer.
-
@ayaarale what is it like?
-
@ayaarale well, once a modelign agency asked me to work for them, they woudl be like workign with fashion, right?
-
@shadetheunicorn graphic design? I'm still looking for a position. but I'm working on my portfolio atm. I still make a living in retail. D:
-
@mushi yep. :D did you try it?
-
@ayaarale no... ,-, it wasnt really a thing i was interested in and i had my scholarship money, so i didnt want it. Maybe if it were now i'd have tried. But i at least went to a class we had to teach us to walk forward
-
@ayaarale yeah getting noticed as an artist or stuff like that is really hard :\ wish you luck
-
@shadetheunicorn ikr? i feel like its so much harder to work in an artistic field. because its not all about where you went to school. they want to see that you know what you're doing. and you kind of need connections >_>
-
@ayaarale thats why i try to submit stuff to eqd most of the time who knows maybe they'll post it or something
-
@mushi maybe its something to look into. just for income. but for me, i don't see myself modeling because I'm not tall enough.
-
@shadetheunicorn that would cool! I always say to never stop trying.
-
@ayaarale well, i'm pretty tall,the problem is that i dont like taking pictures, or place with many people, or people dressing and this stuff, and they wanted me for the runway, so it would never work
-
@shadetheunicorn when i was still drawing, i got some of my pieces there, it is hard as heck unless you ar eone of the top popular artidts
-
@mushi i just never stop trying
giving up is a stupid thing to do -
@mushi wow. sounds cool. but yea if you don't like it. what can you do? i understand. I've been to plenty of shows as a volunteer and its definitely crazy.
-
@shadetheunicorn well, yeah, but actually i've gotten tired of drawing
-
@mushi how?
-
@ayaarale yeah, my sister worked on these things and she told me how it is and hell no
-
@shadetheunicorn well, i just never felt liek drawign gain
-
