          @rarity Think of it as an oasis from ice and extreme cold. The last remnants of Russian Imperial architecture, literally. A really neat mixture of not so old and modern. Moreso than say in Moscow, or more noticeable for it is much smaller.

            @appawljack It's one of the few places in Russia that I've really considered seeing, not much else really interests me (although I don't know much about Russia anyway but still)

                @appawljack kind of off topic but it's really interesting how perspective changes in the northern areas of Europe due to Earth curvature when looking at maps. For example most EU maps it looks like the Norway-Sweden border is vertical, while in this map of Russia it is almost exactly horizontal. I just thought of this after looking up where exactly Irkutsk is
