    I am absolutely convinced that the 3D Mario games have used the same animations since Mario Sunshine, at LEAST. Maybe even 64.

        @foxyrainyday 64 is probably a stretch, but definitely between Sunshine and the Galaxy series.

          @mrmattimation I feel like this might be true for the running and jumping between the two games (though they still use different models), but both have plenty of animations totally unique from each other.
