@bitshift It was deleted, then created again, then deleted again to avoid having groups that could be replaced for a hashtag, and it seems some genius created it again.

@nerthos Because you can subscribe to it. You can't subscribe to a hashtag in this version of statusnet. Though even when you can, groups can actually cover multiple hashtags at once, allowing you to subscribe to one thing that covers multiple variations of the same hashtag and that can be updated with new related hashtags as they become known.
