@hakupony yes. If you are fast, you can walk past, and skip It. If you are late, there's 3 of them, and they'll attack you.

@mushi It is a very strange game. It's like the tutorial did not end until 80% of the game and 90% were designed like a pipe. I liked the story (and I am one of those who liked the ccharacters as well) but it is more like a good interactive movie.

@mushi 13 has normal Final Fantasy length. Maybe a bit longer. 13-2 is rather short but you can do much optional stuff.

@mushi Just remember that the second is not nearly as linear as the first one. Also, there are some changes in the level up system and you have a monster in your third party slot. On the other hand, the summons are gone.

@greydragon412 Oh, sorry for the late response. As long as you understand what Fal'Cie and L'Cie are (and this is in the IG-Manual), you will be fine. The only problem is that FF13-2 spoils the ending for FF13.

@greydragon412 Fal'Cie = Evil cybergods, wanted to destroy Cocoon L'Cie: Slave of evil cybergod. Becomes zomby if fails, becomes cristal when suceed. Cocoon= Flying paradise, Pulse= told to be hell, is just wilderness with GIGANTIC BRONTOTURTLESAURUS. That's about it.
