What I'll never understand of Fallout is why everyone lives in dilapidated pre war buildings, when they have millions of tons of processed steel, iron, concrete, tools and everything to just build new settlements. They don't have things like oil, but you don't need it to scrap a few trucks to use as big carts, haul materials, and build a proper settlement safe from raiders and whatever.

@skellythos This sums up pretty much most of my complaints about postapocalyptic scenarios.

@adiwan Seriously though. Cars, fences, solid steel structures from crumbled buildings. Just grab that, break concrete into slabs and remove bricks one by one, and you can build pretty much anything from a house to a secure farm to a castle.

@skellythos Water World makes more sense than many other postapocalyptic worlds. People live on ships or water fortresses or defunct oil rigs and use every single bit of their resources for survival, and that's not a lot.

@adiwan Yeah. They scrap whatever dirt they can to plant crops, and constantly mantain the structures of their bases. Any and all resources are prized.

@adiwan That said... Water World is still not a great movie but it has its moments.
