@kzimmermann @raito that's cool, but beware! http://cdn.meme.am/instances/500x/53965736.jpg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XlGs59Y_dU ;)

@kzimmermann @raito but since you already know Japanese, I think learning German won't be a problem for you ;)
-
@onetimepad except that gernman has declension, so it would be harder IMO

@mushi I've been wanting to learn for a while because it sounds nice
Wednesday, 02-Dec-15 16:50:32 UTC from web-
@skellythos i think it sounds even uglier than english
Wednesday, 02-Dec-15 21:14:51 UTC from web-
@mushi What do you mean, it's really nice.

@mushi ok, maybe learning to TALK is easier with German... but when it comes to READING or WRITING, Japanese is much harder imho (2000Kanji)
-
@onetimepad well, kanji is tricky, but declension is a more annoying problem, or at least it was when i had polish classes (which has 7 cases)
Wednesday, 02-Dec-15 22:46:09 UTC from web-
@mushi hmm. maybe its also a matter of taste. Learning Kanji can be fun, thus it might seem more easy. Others might prefer to learn grammar.
-
@mushi btw, you seem to know a lot languages! :-D Polish? I know someone from Poland, he told me about Polish grammar.. it's even worse than
-
@onetimepad i know portuguese, then i learned english due to playing games in e glish since i was 4.now i study japanese and i could only study polish for one semester. There wasnt much of a reason for studying polish, i only thought it looked nice. And i understand some small sentences in spanish since it is a little simmilar to portuguese,
Wednesday, 02-Dec-15 22:58:58 UTC from web-
@mushi @onetimepad In fact I have talked with some people that speak portuguese using spanish, is easy to understand for the both ways.
-
@raito @mushi then you should also be able to understand Italian pretty well, afaik it's very similar to Spanish.Btw. あなたたちはどうして日本語の勉強おしますか?
-
@onetimepad italian is already pretty different, but i understand some words. To be honest i started studying japanese vecause many japanese games never get localized out of japan (i know it is a lame reason)
Wednesday, 02-Dec-15 23:16:08 UTC from web-
@mushi why, I think that's a completely valid reason! I think it's cool! :) Which or what kind of japanese games do you play?
-
@onetimepad thanks ^^, i mostly play j-rpgs. Tales is my favorite series, it used to be prwtty rare for a game in the series to be localized, but it seems bandai namco is learning their lesson now
Wednesday, 02-Dec-15 23:26:03 UTC from web-
@mushi I didn't even know that Tales series before.. just watched a short gameplay video, it looks pretty cool! 面白そですね。^^
-
@onetimepad the tales series is 20 years old and i have played almost all the mais titles, you should try at least tales of synphonia if you can ( game cube, jp only on ps2, ps3 and next year will be portes to pc)

@mushi I have never played a game of Tales series. However I like JRPGs, some years ago I played some games of that genre. I think my favorite is Chrono Trigger.
-

@onetimepad Well, I love the language since I started to watch subtitled anime. Then I met a japanese's teacher (in that moment boyfriend of a friend) and I took the chance of learn from him.
-
-
@raito for what ive been told, ar least for american portuguese and spanish, it is harder for the native spanish speakers to understant portuguese because portuguese has a wiser phonetics.

@mushi German grammar as far as I can tell. And I have absolutely no talent for this language. I can't even pronounce his surname. :D
-
-
-
@mushi but you are right, German is full of special cases and strange rules which make absolutely no sense, at least not to me. ^^
-
@onetimepad @mushi Have a student from Germany in my home, since Aug. He's starting to forget German: has trouble on phone with family now.
-
-
@onetimepad @mushi It's funny but it's happened to every exchange student I know within a few months. They do get it back quickly on return.
-
-
@blp @onetimepad well, i would expect someone to remember their first language for longer. Maybe he didnt like herman so much

@onetimepad see, that is why german would be harder.at least in japanese you have nearly no concordance of any kind to make
Wednesday, 02-Dec-15 22:53:35 UTC from web-
@mushi what do you mean by "concordance"? I didn't understand that.
-
@onetimepad agreement in grammatical case with nound and its qualifying adjective. I think.
