  1. So some imbecile in a truck rammed my father's car from behind. Damaged the bumper, the bumper's steel structure, the trunk lid and the rear plates.

    1. @nerthos Is the car still driveable?

      1. @tiffany Yeah, the trunk is still functional too. It's just that the value goes down, and it'll have to eventually be put off service for a bit to repair it.

        1. @nerthos When our car got hit we had to drive it home with a part of the back scraping against the road, and when we sold it on we only got like £70 for it

          1. @tiffany Nah, this was one of these https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4c/Chevrolet_K5_Blazer_--_09-07-2009.jpg ramming it on the back at street speed, so the damage was relatively minor. In fact if not because of the height, it would have been only the bumper. I think the idiot just wasn't paying attention and didn't stop fast enough.

            1. @nerthos Oh I see, that's pretty convenient I guess, for what it is

              1. @techdisk That was the truck that rammed my father's car. The car is one of these http://www.miratuauto.com/images/VOLKSWAGEN-SENDA-1994-VENANCIO-160212.jpg

                1. @nerthos ahhh. Maybe the guy didn't see you over the huge hood?

                  1. @techdisk He just wasn't paying attention. It was on the... avenue? no idea how you call them over there. Main street.

                2. @nerthos Huh. That car was never made in North America. Interesting.

                  1. @techdisk I think it was only sold on europe and south america. The engine used for it is really common though, and still used.

                    1. @nerthos Actually, according to the Wikipedia article, it was sold in NA as the VW Fox for a short while. http://pny.lv/03y8l

          2. @tiffany Honestly if it was that damaged I would have sold it by parts. Wheels, engine, seats, and so on.

            1. @nerthos That sounds like a pretty solid plan, definitely would have gone better for us I think
