    1. @ceruleanspark It's nowhere near as recent, but I'd say William Gibson's Necromancer is pretty much essential reading if you're a fan of sci-fi literature.

      2. @northernnarwhal @ceruleanspark It's a great novel, though.  Its sequels aren't bad, either.  The stuff around the Loa has me curious.

        1. @takebatcaveakenji Yeah, it helped lay the groundwork for what's effectively one of my favourite genres of fiction (cyberpunk, that is). It's also just a great book by its own merits, its a smartly constructed and thematically dense but consistently engaging tale of complex characters grappling with the intricacy of the human consciousness. Gibson's imagery in the novel is amazing too, the visual motifs are gorgeous and stylistically fitting.
