    1. @mushi Oh hey, hoverflies, they like sweet flowers and heat. With most sub-species you can keep appart the females that the males because the "eyes" touch on the top of the head with the males. And their eggs look like someone put miniature styrofoam on the inside of a leaf. ... Their only defense is "looking like a wasp/bee"

        1. @mushi Does not have to bee true though ( pun here ). Some subspecies do not even abide by that "rule". The Dutch garden variety hover-fly happens to do so. Nature is weird though. I mean you would think that Mud-Daubers would absolutely thrive in our polders and such, but no, they find our ground too clay-ey and can't survive our mildest winter. I am actually kinda thankfull for that.
