So, what would you guys say to plain-clothes pony cosplay? I can't do it now, obviously, it's 12.30am, but just as a passing thought.

@abigpony Basically, some cosplayers pride themselves on outlandish, spectacular costumes. Plain clothes cosplay is essentially wearing costumes that can be recognized as a character, but at the same time not attracting any strange looks from passers-by. For example, Scott Pilgrim. His clothes are pretty distinct, but they won't get you funny looks if you wear them on the street.

@abigpony Goody. I'm just thinking, which character should I start with, and how?

@abigpony OK, so. Purple isn't a colour I have a lot of, I may have to do some shopping. What would (a male, bear in mind, I'm not going to crossdress) Twilight wear? I think maybe a purple jacket, jumper and perhaps a tie. I'll have to draw myself a sketch to see what looks good.

@earflaps Get a yellow shirt, and dress up like fluttershy!

@earflaps Something in purples and dark blues that looks vaguely school uniformish

@abigpony I'm thinking a white button shirt with a dark purple jacket. @colfax Shame my old uniform was burgundy, I could've worn that.

@earflaps If it's a dark burgundy, toss a navy blue waistcoat on over it, that'll make it look more purple

@colfax It's not that dark. No matter, I don't have to use it at all.
