  1. Does OpenToonz or whatever have the same smoothing problems as Flash? What are the pros and cons of it? I can't stand animating in Flash anymore at all.

    1. @bigpony I tried it out. Basically unusable.

    2. @bigpony I dunno how the guys at Ghibli can stand it, honestly. The brush is WORSE than Flash, the interface is convoluted, some basic features like the toolbar are hidden by default...

    3. @bigpony I would give ToonBoom a try. Its interface doesn't make any god damn sense either but its vector brush tool is very, very nice.

      1. @mrmattimation I've tried Toonboom and it's brush was nice, but everything else was atrocious. It had a bunch of serious issues. Sounds like you hate Toonz, but looking at other reviews, it's just a bit of a learning curve. Maybe I should just try it out myself(?)

        1. @bigpony I would definitely give it a try, maybe you'll have more luck than I did.

    4. @bigpony Alternatively, apparently Clip Studio (one of the best art softwares I've ever used) now has a timeline.

      1. @mrmattimation Yeah, I knew there's a whole animation suite for it. I don't have $50 to spend, though.
