@taknamay I am not a treeologist ( ? ) but, although pretty, that can't be healthy right ?

@critialcloudkicker It depends on whether it's a parasitic plant or an aerial plant. The former drain nutrients from the tree while the latter just sits on it, getting it's own nutrients and sunlight without affecting the tree.

@critialcloudkicker I thought so too, but this happened last year. They are called redbud trees.

@taknamay I've loved the redbud blooms of East TN ever since I moved here. I never knew that the flowers and seeds were edible though! Also, original image sort of looks like old pruning has given way to buds forming right on the trunk.

@critialcloudkicker @taknamay You mean arboriculturist. :) I think the most mouthful-y of the 'culturists'...
-
@weerosie @critialcloudkicker I think "arborist" is appropriate too
-
@taknamay I like 5 dollar words, or 5 [currency] words for places where dollars are laughed at. So I will go with arborticulturist... As soon as I know how to pronounce it.
