    1. @taknamay I am not a treeologist ( ? ) but, although pretty, that can't be healthy right ?

      1. @critialcloudkicker It depends on whether it's a parasitic plant or an aerial plant. The former drain nutrients from the tree while the latter just sits on it, getting it's own nutrients and sunlight without affecting the tree.

      2. @critialcloudkicker I thought so too, but this happened last year. They are called redbud trees.

          1. @taknamay I've loved the redbud blooms of East TN ever since I moved here. I never knew that the flowers and seeds were edible though! Also, original image sort of looks like old pruning has given way to buds forming right on the trunk.

      3. @critialcloudkicker @taknamay You mean arboriculturist. :) I think the most mouthful-y of the 'culturists'...

        1. @weerosie @critialcloudkicker I think "arborist" is appropriate too

          1. @taknamay I like 5 dollar words, or 5 [currency] words for places where dollars are laughed at. So I will go with arborticulturist... As soon as I know how to pronounce it.
