        1. @stumperman No that's one of the three guys that both kept the door, checked people in and out, and ran the bar. One of them always looked at videos of guitar distortion pedals past 00 when it was mostly empty so that was cool.

      2. @nerthos So have you actually been dubbed a Count yet?

        1. @scribus Sadly this country only has clerical nobility, and I'd need to go through decades of charity work and foundations to be awarded the title of count. I do intend to join the Knights of Malta to eventually be recommended for knighthood, as you can join as a volunteer and knights and dames can endorse you for the title. It's basically the same, but without having to spend a personal fortune, instead doing charitable work with the order.

            1. @scribus The other option is making use of my dual citizenship and moving to Spain after getting my degree, and managing to land a few jobs for the royal house.

              1. @nerthos It degenerates so perfectly from modernity to Game of Thrones.

                1. @scribus Admittedly the Spanish monarchy is much more reasonable than other houses. The King was an important part of the return to democracy after Francisco Franco, and they don't make use of any weird privileges other than the King (and he alone, it doesn't extend to his family) being excent from the law, which in practice is a privilege never used. Even if you get a nobiliary title, you don't get many benefits other than joining exclusive social events. I just think "sir", "lord", "count", "don" or whatever sounds much better than "mr." "doctor" or whatever.

                    1. @zz I wouldn't get one of those even if I got paid for it (and over here they do, they made a transvestite welfare plan, which was the most retarded thing ever, thanks populism)
