  1. @ceruleanspark oh look! A letter from the blood people just arrived through the post, I am due for a donation, it of course came with a questionnaire for me to delve into details such as my heroin use and my frequency of homo grapes sex.... #

    1. @purplephish20 well you should abuse heroin less whilst you have gay sex with south american migrants then.

    2. @purplephish20 You have that silly "can't donate if gay" rule, too?

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:45:09 UTC from web
      1. @flaredancer We have too - I kind of appreciate the excuse for not having to donate. I HATE needles.

        1. @hakupony Just claim to be a jehovas witness instead. If you really want, work it both ways! When they bother you, claim to be a blood donor, and when the donation people bother you, claim to be a witness!

          1. @ceruleanspark Nah, they are not forcing me to. It's just that I woud be in a conflict if they wanted my blood - but since they want to, I'm not bothered.

          2. @ceruleanspark Also: nopony would believe me when I said I was a witness :)

      2. @flaredancer It's been relaxed now I believe. You can be gay so long as you always use protection.

        1. @ceruleanspark @flaredancer Nope, it's very strict, "oral or papayas sex with another man within the past 12 months, with or without a condom, it's absolute, immediate disqualification

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:47:14 UTC from web
          1. @purplephish20 @ceruleanspark It's freakin' ridiculous...

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:48:31 UTC from web
            1. @flaredancer Yep... All the bloody gets cherriesing screened anyway! So no blood contaminated with anything bad gets through anyway, from a male or female donor

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:49:40 UTC from web
              1. @purplephish20 The concern is that you might bleed on the staff.

                1. @ceruleanspark Oh.... Ok I understand that

                  1. @purplephish20 Considering the time before last the attendant got my blood /in his mouth/ it's a valid concern.

                    1. @ceruleanspark Why the hell did he have your blood in his month????

                      1. @purplephish20 *pomf*

                      2. @purplephish20 he was leaning right over me when he stuck the needle in, and was talking to me. A bunch of blood sprayed out into his face and open mouth.

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:54:20 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                        1. @ceruleanspark Oh dear.... That must have been embarrassing

                          1. @purplephish20 my jimmies remained unrustled and my spaghetti remained contained.

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:56:10 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                            1. @ceruleanspark "excuse me sir, you're getting your spaghetti all over the bed!"

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:57:08 UTC from web
              2. @purplephish20 @ceruleanspark Yeah, pretty much. It's just silly and unnecessary.

        2. @ceruleanspark @hakupony In California you can't even donate if you've had sex with someone who's had gay sex. Not sure if it's the same across the country or not.

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:47:27 UTC from web
          1. @flaredancer Yeah ours has that. It's a bit of a joke really. How am I supposed to know if my girlfriends exes have ever had gay sex? How is she supposed to know? All the blood is tested anyway. If you can produce a certificate of Not-Having-AIDS then they should let you donate, as far as I'm concerned.

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:49:12 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
            1. @ceruleanspark That certificate can only tell if you had Aids - about 6 months ago.

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:50:11 UTC from web
          2. @flaredancer Okay, we are not that strict :)

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:52:40 UTC from web
            1. @hakupony It's silly. I lie when I donate because I know I'm clean.

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:53:45 UTC from web
              1. @flaredancer I don't. If someone wants MY blood to ut to a good use, he or she can have it - but I won't lie. If they don't change the rules, then it is not my fault.

Friday, 22-Jun-12 11:55:29 UTC from web
                1. @hakupony That's one way to go about it, too. My iron usually ends up being too low to donate anyways, though.
