  1. Here's that $25 garage sale bike I got btw. It's a 90's Raleigh, cosmetic rust but I think the owner had to have gotten new moving parts or something because they look new (also RDN grapeing upload my pictures pls) http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/847572

    1. @rarity Not sure if the fenders fit it more because they're polished or not

      1. @awl the thing is I don't know if I'll ever ride in conditions making fenders useful

        1. @rarity Hey as long as you like their look it can't hurt. I kind of wish mine could fit them but there's barely clearance for the tyre itself.

          1. @awl they certainly add that classic cruising feel

        2. @rarity @awl I got forced into fenders as a kid but eventually learned they're worth it even if ugly, whenever I rode over muddy or wet roadsides.

          1. @nerthos @rarity next bike I get will have them whether I buy it that way or fit some on.

            1. @awl Well you can always get some old ones, cut them in half, and attach them to the frame with metal strips, rivets and sealant.

    2. @rarity Looks nice. Practical, with a basket and a wide seat with suspension to hold your fat behind.

      1. @nerthos oh yeah my fat ass needs a big seat

        1. @rarity I should buy a seat with suspension whenever I get a chance to use my bike again because the only downside of it is that riding for extended periods of time shakes every bone in my body as it has no suspension whatsoever.

          1. @nerthos ugh I know that feeling. I've ridden bikes that feel like there's no seat there at all

            1. @rarity haha *cries*

              1. @awl bikes are all about trading off. If you want a more comfortable everyday rider you sacrifice weight and speed, and if you want to go really fast you wear banana yellow lycra, shave your legs, and ride a bike that weighs less than an ounce and will make your body hate you

                1. @rarity I might be middle of the road here and never will shave body hair again

                  1. @awl but the lycra is still on the books

                      1. @awl Just attach rockets to your bike

                          1. @awl Perfect. You sign up to a race, manage to land one of the positions on the front, and start your boosters as the race starts, disabling the competition.
