The summary of the Gilgamesh epic is a mess. Sounds like the story of a drunken D&D party.

@adiwan That's what makes it great. It's a story about men of more might than reason.

@nerthos That's allright. I play D&D because of all the (involuntarily) wacky things that happen and the lack of reason we experience.

@adiwan Pretty much. A realm driven by unplanned actions and imagination is both wacky and magnifient.

@nerthos Our wizard has gone permanently insane because he touched a crystal made of evil goo and tries to do everything to replace his bones with stronger material. He also owns a Staff of Wonders that does a random spell each time it is used (from a d100 table). He used a custom summon minecart spell to squash orks and dragons.

@adiwan Last time I played, one of the guys had lost his sheets so he made a level 1 rogue whose backstory was that he was a Chinese peasant from the imperial China era who was planeshifted by a wizard. He knew of nothing other than rice farming and could only speak chinese, so he could only communicate by gestures.

@nerthos @adiwan He along a teenaged barely-out-of-magic-school wizard managed to screw up robbing a brothel, he ran off, went on a crime spree, and then was smart enough to change into normal clothes and dress a beaten up assassin in his chinese clothing to evade consequences.

@nerthos That's a classic.

@adiwan On the first session, the wizard, specializing in elemental magic, set up the same brothel on fire accidentally when he had his first time with one of the workers.

@nerthos We had a psion in the group that went to brothels from time to time. Every time the player couldn't go to the play session we had always an in-universe excuse for the character's disappearance.

@adiwan I wonder what percentage of all campaigns involve brothels.
Tuesday, 06-Sep-16 09:28:05 UTC from web-
@nerthos Our current campaign had no brothels. Instead our current (female) DM introduced a bunch of gay NPCs.

@adiwan An interesting thing about these games is that whenever there's female players, a gay character shows up sooner or later.
