@dolus To be honest, I'm more worried about Pence when it comes to gay marriage, but he won't be able to do very much on his own.

@takeFluffle Puffakenji Pence has said he wants is protection for religious people to not be forced to something they don't want to do (gay couples forcing bakeries to make cakes for example). Even he does not seem want to get rid of civil gay marriage.

@dolus @takecherryakenji This. Crap like the whole conversion therapy thing won't happen, the most he'll do will be let individuals choose whether they want to be pro, neutral or anti gay without the state punishing them for it, as it's their right.

@dolus Well, the first sentence is the real point of contention I'm worried about. It's the liberties for one group versus the liberties of another. I don't have a stance on the issue.

@taknamay @takecherryakenji But even Pence does not want to overturn civil gay marriage. He just does not want religious people to have to do something they dont personally agree with.
I'm a deist, but I do see the need for something to be done here. There have been cases of gay couples perposefully select Chiristian (never Muslim for some reason) owned businesses so they can take them to court when they try to refuse service. That sort of crap makes ALL gays look bad, even though it's just a few assholes with a chip on their shoulder. https://gs.smuglo.li/attachment/25998-

@taknamay Pence wasn't a very high profile figure before Trump came along. He is religious, so I assume he personally views marriage as being exclusively a man and a women. The only bit that matters about that is if he wants to impose his views into law. If not, then live and let live, I say.

@takekiwiakenji @taknamay I ere on the side of supporting free agency. If the christian bakery wants to lose the business of gays and people who support them, let them. Hell, that just opens a market for bakeries that either cater to gay events or don't care what the cake is for.

@dolus From the same cesspool of outright made up propaganda than most of their arguments for why he's so terrible. I keep comparing it to my country last year because it's the exact same situation, word by word. Here they also had the gays up in arms against the candidate that won, despite the fact that the guy's party had voted in favour of them and his opponent, which they endorsed, had done the opposite. The democrats are doing the exact same crap that the kirchnerists did here, and they're creating a social gap between reasonable people and brainwashed fanatics.
