@eaglehooves laptops are meant to be on the road. No point in having a weak one. My laptop now also serves as a seat on wet grass and as an umbrella.

@renovatedkitchen I've got freefall protection in mine, so I [i]could[/i] drop it, but that still wears on the platters. Does the toughbook have an SSD?

@eaglehooves I have an SSD but it's my gaming rigs boot drive. Gonna buy a 750GB Momentus XT drive for the lappy once I have money again. Nothing like a hybrid drive. Have a 500GB one and it is amazing.

@techdisk42 toughbooks have no fans. They are specially designed (circuit board included) to withstand extreme temperatures.

@princesstrixie one time this buff guy wanted to punch my older one. I held it with a stance. He punched it as hard as he could, but a small crack in the casing, but was screaming in pain after because he really injured his knuckle. I stumbled backwards and almost fell. Computer was fine.

@renovatedkitchen Old stuff is pretty much indestructable. Thats why i like it. Alot higher standards then. I mean, my oldest laptop's case is completely steel. Painted black. It is a flippin tank.

@techdisk42 yup. I may recommend a CF-29 because they are cheaper. But only a 1.6 I believe. Nothing setFSB can't fix though. Check kijiji

@eaglehooves if my parents asked me to toss tech, i would just hide it behind a bookcase or something, say it was tossed, and take it out again later. I will NOT throw away anything that works. As general as that statement is, it is completely true.
