Federation dun like you @moonman https://batcaveposter.club/notice/1962136
-
@moonman I tried following/unfollowing to renew the sub, will see if that helps.
-
@moonman You have my axe if you want to start awarband to go after sunman.
-
@nerthos he will pay
-
@nerthos I swear to Potato Knishesing god every time I accept an alliance from those shifty apples they betray it.
-
@maiyannah I think I only managed to ever establish one with the Swadians. Haven't gotten in any fights with the Vaegirs so far though. Last time I played Rhodoks ceased to exist and the Sarranids are down to one city. I still have only one lord.
-
@takebatcaveakenji Basically SLC and FZP right now since they're having some hardcore federation issues. I unblocked them on HLA after Hakui extended an olive branch and even with Flown poking at things and the blocks removed we can't get the servers to touch.
-
@takeappleakenji I'd wonder if the block FrankerZed the federation up in some way if they weren't also having the same problems with RDN.
-
@nerthos I tend to just fill out my roster with my noble companions and buff up the commoners and middleclassmen to be my personal retinue.
-
@takeFluffle Puffakenji @maiya we need to add mastodon to this don't we
-
@moonman @takeFrankerZakenji replace gnutan with it
-
@maiyannah I got them all clad in milanese armor, great helms, plate mittens and plate/iron boots, with kite or heater shields and maces as well as the particular weapons that each is skilled at (bow, crossbow, throwing, spear, etc) so they're basically the warband equivalent to a WH40k terminator squad. Walk in with them into any battle and I'll get out of it with 0-2 losses and full prisoners. Granted I spent more on them than what I'd need to bribe 4 wars into peace, and sometimes I have to give one of them ~1700 coins when they start bickering among themselves, but that's half what I make with a batch of prisoners and they allow me to get 95% of my troops to max upgrade level and fill the garrisons. Next I'll test how well the AI does with cavalry combat against some looters (which can't even hurt them or me) to see if I can get them to charge as a line at my sides and if it works I'll get each a charger and a jousting lance.
-
cc: @gargron is funny joke
-
@maiya Alcohol, viagra, and server porn. That's all you need.
-
@nerthos I usually just take an axe and play polo with heads, but your way is safer and more actually tactical. I've just never been hard pressed enough by the M&B:W AI to need to worry about proper tactical formations except outside of seiges of castles with large garrisons.
-
@maiyannah Yeah, I haven't really used much in the way of tactics past "hold position" and "charge" since early in the game, but doing it that way would speed up things quite a bit. More so as it neglects the risk of enemy lance cavalry charging at my lines. If they can do that without rushing off to the sides to pick fights, then I'll order the infantry and archers to stand still, get the heroes to follow me in charges, and by the time the enemy remnants make it to my side I'll let the infantry finish them while I deal with the next group.
My current tactic of "hold positions", going on my own to mace some heads, then ordering a charge on the dispersed/busy enemies works just fine but is slow. -
@nerthos Yeah I tend to get impatient and want to go viking berserker in the middle of enemy lines or some mango.
-
@maiyannah Haha, I do that consistently. It's just kind of annoying at times when enemies swarm in a way that it's hard to hit each.
-
@nerthos Yes, yes it is. Tis why I tend to favour axes, they break shields well.
-
@maiyannah I have a shortened volgue for that, 49c two hander with bonus shield damage, but it kills rather than knock out so it's useless for making money.
-
@nerthos Oh my bodycounts are always massive, but its easy to fill out the prisoner cap regardless.
-
@maiyannah I want a continent to rule after the war, haha. Though I guess I could instead have a castle made entirely out of bones so everyone else surrenders.
