        1. @pony There is much more what that came for. I like some visual key gackt, Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois and Nightmare. Then, there is psychodelic stuff and the Touhou soundtracks - just listen to this guy and tell me it is not awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6FV4XkECtE

          1. @hakupony I love that song. I saw a version of it animated on photographed sheets of paper once I think. He's a talented violinist

            1. @pony There are thousands of versions of that song. I sometimes just watch it on Synthesia :3

                    1. @hakupony Also, i did some research on synesthesia in high school, not the program, but the mental condition.

                      1. @pony Never heard of it.

                        1. @hakupony The program must have been named after the mental condition. Synesthesia is basically when senses become crossed in the brain in some individuals so that they may taste smell or hear what they see and vice-versa. Many experience it and eventually tune it out when they're very young. Some retain it into their adult years.

                          1. @pony A friend of mine has Synesthesia

                            1. @flaredancer that's cool! My wife has it as well. I've tried to sensitize myself to it, but the most I can pick up is flashes of light where there's sound, never colored light though. I've met a number of synesthetics. Does your friend see colors around people too?

                              1. @pony I don't know, actually… I know she feels things with certain noises and I think she might see specific colors, too. Some noises are painful and some are euphoric. It's really cool when she tweets stuff about her synesthesia :3 I'm so interested in it!

                                1. @flaredancer @hakupony I've met 2 synesthetic ponies (my wife included) who say my associated color is canary yellow. I've also met somepony who could detect the actual energy of others' auras, which is far rarer. Unlike synesthesia, auric detection can be learned, but it takes a lot of discipline as far as I understand it. The closest I've come is to get a feeling of what somepony's aura is, but I have a lot of difficulty relating that to color, which my friend could do easily.

                                  1. @pony I believe there are some drugs which can make you have this kind of hallucination...

Thursday, 26-Jul-12 11:42:02 UTC from web
                                    1. @hakupony Oh yeah. Drugs will do all sorts of wierd stuff hehe* I suppose they might even alter your brain enough to enable synesthesia where is previously wasn't possible. I'm just speculating. As for auras, I understand it requires lucid sobriety to really detect them. Healthy living is pretty important for that.

                                      1. @pony I'm thinking about trying something hallicugenic for the purpose to learn more about my perception of reality. I'm not sure about it though :-)

Thursday, 26-Jul-12 11:48:57 UTC from web
                                        1. @hakupony You may learn something about your perception, but it won't likely be reality. xD

                                          1. @pony That's the tricky part - I'd need effects like Synthesia or just the enhancment of certain impressions. I have no interest in seing purple elephants in skirts :3

                                            1. @hakupony I know that synesthesia is similar but not identical in different ponies, so while one may "see" a song one way, another may see it very differently. Interestingly though, One of my synesthetic friends said she was at a gallery looking at a painting that reminded her of a song that she couldn't remember the name to. She turned to ask her friend whether she had the same impression. Her friend said "no" but another pony viewing the painting next to her did have an impression and named the song she was trying to remember. Interesting stuff. :)

                                  2. @pony I don't know what my aura is… nor my associated color. I've never (knowingly) met a synesthetic person face to face. I've met someone who said he could read auras, but he was the sort of person who you took everything he said with a very large grain of salt

Thursday, 26-Jul-12 11:42:20 UTC from web
                          2. @hakupony Oh yeah. Most synesthetic individuals see a color around people they encounter which is perceived as an aura, but not actually related their bioresonant field (so not their aura really).

                              1. @hakupony nope! I think it's be pretty cool to experience personally.
