      1. @derpyshy yeah it was so awesome. I sang Driver's High by L'arc En Ciel (youtube-search it if you aren't familiar) and after finishing the song and meet/greeting a bunch of people who liked my performance, a young woman handed me a cd and business card asking if I was interested in auditioning for her heavy VK j-rock group. I warned her that I can't do growl-screaming stuff but she was adamant about getting my contact info and getting me to give it a shot. I did do some brief screaming for the high notes in the song I sang; she told me my inflections were dead on or something whereas most Americans do it wrong

        1. @crusader8 L'Arc-en-Ciel isn't the kind of Japanese rock I like, but still cool.

          1. @jla the jrock band that wants me sounds nothing like them, but I sing Larc en ciel because I like the singing. Same reason why I ever listen to Gackt; my music preferences are almost solely based on what I like to sing.

            1. @crusader8 I don't like Gackt either but oh well, I guess I'm just more into the metal scene with some exceptions. Congrats!

              1. @jla I love metal! I just don't like singing a lot of it. I'll sing the melodic stuff with Power Metal stuff, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest etc, but scream-entire-time metal tends to get boring.

                1. @crusader8 Talking about Japanese bands, I like X Japan, Seikima-II, Sex Machineguns, Loudness, Galneryus, YKZ, Guitar Wolf to name a few.

                  1. @jla yay galneryus!

            2. @crusader8 And yes, guitar chugging and growling is boring in metal in general.

        2. @crusader8 :D Gongratulations!

          1. @derpyshy Thanks! If anything comes out of it it'll be at the very least more musical performance experience
