  1. Maaan, I want a pet rat. And a pet scorpion. And a pet armored lizard.

    1. @communistprime Rats make awesome pets. They're very social and smart for such a little thing. I used to know someone who taught her rats how to play 'basketball'. AKA the rat would get a little plastic(?) basketball and put it in a little hoop. It was adorable! And if you get one from a good breeder, rather than *cough*Petco*cough* they can live for a while. For a rodent at least. ;3

      1. @tara That'd be awesome. I've always heard they were real smart, and they're probably easier to care for than mice, especially with their size. I'd just need to find a decent breeder...maybe THE INTERWEBZ would help.

        1. @communistprime Of course! I wish I could recommend a website for you... perhaps you can go to Yahoo's questionaire website and for ask for any suggestions? I'm sure there're website that recommend greet breeders. Always make sure to visit the breeder at their house before you make any deals though. They can be an animal hoarder who claims to have great rats for all you know and have some nasty pee-filled house. I've heard the horror stories from people who get pets form breeders like that before inspecting their place and the animals. D:

          1. @tara Oh yeah, for sure. I can do some reasearch, but for now it's not possible. I've got a roommate allergic to rodents, but I'm moving out so I might be able to get one later. I just need to be able to care for the rat and the snake at the same time. The snake (Shnaek, my milk snake) is easy to care for...just wish I could hold him more, but he's so skittish all the time.

            1. @communistprime Milk snakes are corn snakes, right? I'm thinking about getting a corn snake one day, they're such cute little things! But I don't know if I can really see myself keeping frozen mice in my freezer. I love the its' name btw, Shnaek. >w<

              1. @tara Nah, milk snakes look like coral snakes. Here's a pic of the guy! http://i48.tinypic.com/5wl2y1.jpg He's a bit bigger now, but still pretty. As for the mice, they're easy...just toss'em in a warm-water filled bowl and hold it out to the snake (with feeding tongs, of course) and he does the rest. Real easy to care for!

                      1. @xxyyxx Cats are awesome too! Snakes are good, just be sure to get a ratsnake or cornsnake. Milk snakes are awesome, they're just more skittish.

                        1. @communistprime I see. My cat has been real dumb recently. Ima beg my parents for a snake. Maybe my mom will say yes cause shes owned snakes all her life. :p

                          1. @xxyyxx That would be cool! Could always see about getting a Leopard Gecko, they're real cool. Or Bearded Dragons...they wave at you! It's awesome.

                            1. @communistprime My friend has a bearded dragon, they look so awesome. He brought it to school and it escaped from its cage. It was a funny day.

                              1. @xxyyxx He was allowed to bring it to school? Was it some kind of special pet day? ._. I've never been allowed to bring one of my babies to school.

                2. @communistprime I want your snake! :o Why would I put the mice in the bowl btw? I've always just seen people take the mice out of the freezer with tongs and give it to the snake. Also, I know that snakes do recognize and get used to their owner, but has it ever bit you, and if so how much did it hurt?

                  1. @tara You have to defrost it first...I'm sure it would suck to chomp down on a frozen clump of meat, especially as a cold-blooded animal. He's never bit me, he's really chilled out...just always wants to burrow or hide in the nearest thing, which makes him hard to hold unless I wear a sweater and it's far too hot for that right now2.

                    1. @communistprime lol, I don't know why that didn't hit me- I see what you mean. That's good to know he's never bit you. I'm gonna make it my goal to ask everybody I know who has a snake (which is nobody other than you atm xD) if their pet ever bit them, so hopefully I can be more comfortable with a pet snake. For some reason I always think they'll bite me, as adorable as they are. I think it's because they don't really show emotion like our fuzzy friends.

                      1. @tara They don't show emotion, but snakes are generally really chill. I've caught wild fox snakes and other species and generally, after you've caught them and are holding them, they don't mind so long as you're not causing pain. Some snakes are worse than others though, like black racers (I've heard they're a bit bitey, but they're not normally pets either).
