I love how I collect all masks on Majora's Mask, get the Fierce Deity mask, just to see the emulator+rom fail and I have no control over Fierce Deity.

@skullpony 1.5 used to lose control over FD while outside boss fights, but 1.6 fixed that.

@fiercedeity Yeah I have 1.6 and when I use him in the final fight, he just swings his sword like an idiot and I can't switch back.

@skullpony Are you using cheats? Some cheats don't work together and cause that. Try enabling "use all C buttons" to see if it helps.

@fiercedeity It's fine. I rather just play it all over again on my Gamecube. (I do own it on N64, but the joystick is broken. Curses Mario Party)

@thelastgherkin i agree with this. but you responded to pretty much a timeline question in universe. in story, the twili could have created majora's mask, but IRL, it would be a retcon.
