@alphagamer774 Great.

@alphagamer774 sounds like a great attitude to start the semester. :)

@pony Except for the part where I gradded three years ago...

@alphagamer774 xD well then kudos for keeping that enthusiasm!
Monday, 20-Aug-12 07:53:30 UTC from web-
@pony Lol well that's one way of putting it! I guess there's always a positive side to each coin :P

@alphagamer774 sure! Is there any reason you shouldn't like physics after all?
Monday, 20-Aug-12 07:56:53 UTC from web-
@pony True enough. Though there really isn't much of a practical application.
Monday, 20-Aug-12 08:00:12 UTC from web-
@alphagamer774 I once thought about going into special effects for a career. Physics might have had some application there at least. Also, you know.. if you become a physicist. xD
Monday, 20-Aug-12 08:02:57 UTC from web-
@pony Yeah but I'm neither motivated nor practically intelligent, so a career in physics is not really doable. Most people call me smart because I'm "Party Tricks" smart, if you know what I mean. Sort of like, blow your mind in ten seconds flat, but have no real practical application of that knowledge. I would prolly label myself as a philosopher, but you don't really get paid to blow people's minds. Unless you join the military #TerriblePun

@alphagamer774 That pun! *lol* yeah. I once aspired to be an astrophysicist, but then I realized it wasn't worth my effort.
Monday, 20-Aug-12 08:09:04 UTC from web-
@pony I mean I find everything fascinating, I'm the kind of guy who spends like six hours just following links on wikipedia totally entranced, but I doubt I can find a career there.
Monday, 20-Aug-12 08:11:50 UTC from web-
@alphagamer774 People with knowledge and drive can make it in the right career I imagine.
Monday, 20-Aug-12 08:14:44 UTC from web-
@pony Well unfortunately I have neither. So I'm now living in the big city with no friends unemplyoed.
Monday, 20-Aug-12 08:15:27 UTC from web-
@alphagamer774 big cities are sometimes harsh. I guess there's always food service or custodial work. With the job market the way it is, unless you're on disability, it's better than nothing. I'm basically a glorified night watch and sometimes janitor. I make only a little above minimum wage, but at least I get to surf the ponynet all night.
Monday, 20-Aug-12 08:21:11 UTC from web-
@pony Lol well I went from four years of fast food and night shifts, so I have capital, I'm going to see if I can leverage that, but yeah, I don't expect much.

@alphagamer774 Resume writing workshops are your friend.
Monday, 20-Aug-12 08:25:18 UTC from web-
@pony Lol no I can write a CV and I've got a portfolio, but that don't count for cherries if you don't network. And I'm introverted and have a phobia of making phonecalls, so I'm not super good at being social.
Monday, 20-Aug-12 08:30:28 UTC from web-
@alphagamer774 Ah I know that feel. Most of my networking was through family at first, but since I moved away I had to rely on classmates. I got lucky with this job in that I got hired based on my resume and experience.
