  1. Tradition has it that cider-makers would fling a dead rat into a vat of fermenting cider - when the rat had completely dissolved, fermentation was complete.

        1. @thelastgherkin I didn't know kiwi counted as a swear word... Well there is a saying when people would do something without others knowing that would be hindering or otherwise unpleasant and then when they found out they would call them 'rat grapess' so I figured since they threw in a dead rat into their cider it would be fitting.

    2. @thatonestocking It also has something to do with kickstarting the fermentation process by adding that delicious dead rat protein.
