@widget Yeah, remember the VCC, but was wondering about types or best results.

So, what ways are there to record console gameplay on your computer? Say, if I wanted to stream myself playing Red Dead Redemption or something.
-
@communistprime never knew
-
@communistprime vlc
-
@communistprime You'd have to buy a dazzle or something.
-
@mushi There's ways to do it. I know you need one of them video capture cards the other peopl are saying, just wondering if ther was another way.
-
@minti BEDAZZLE #infomercial
-
@cabal The video program?
-
@communistprime The best results in capture cards go for >=$200. Mine cost that much, anyway.
-
@widget Oh, didn't know you could do that with VLC.
-
@redenchilada Oof, already need to spend around $500 to upgrade my mobo, RAM and CPU. That'll be something to get later then.
-
@widget Eurgh, will totally need a better one then. No reason to stream if I can't stream well.
-
@communistprime Composite is usually enough for streaming. $200 is for, like, HD component capturing.
-
@redenchilada @widget I want the best quality :C
-
@communistprime SD is more than enough to stream. HD has the risk of a bottleneck due to the internet connection.
-
@nerthos I'll think about that then. My connection is rather eh at the moment, will be at least...sufficient later.
-
@widget I'll check'em out and see what works. My card has an HDMI output, I'd just need a rather long cable.
-
@widget Well, yeah. I'd get an adapter, which would be more money...but I'd need one anyways.
-
@redenchilada and you, like, never use it.
-
@abigpony My brother and I split the cost and he does most of the using of it nowadays, so. (I hardly play console games any more for some reason!)
-
@redenchilada that would make sense.
