Pro tip: Relationships ruin friendships.

@renovatedkitchen What's happened?
Monday, 17-Sep-12 07:28:09 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark nothing really. Just something I've noted. Also, the 22 hour shift is taking its toll on me.
Monday, 17-Sep-12 07:29:48 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen 22 hours is far too long.
Monday, 17-Sep-12 07:41:21 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark my longest to date was something like 38
Monday, 17-Sep-12 07:53:39 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen Why though? Surely even the most braindead employer can grasp that by the end of a 3X hour shift your productivity is functionally 0

@ceruleanspark true. Let me describe to you the current conditions. No one is here, and I actually hear crickets. Lol. It's like a paid nap
Monday, 17-Sep-12 08:07:28 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen Well, I guess it's better than them cutting your hours to just the times when there's stuff to do, right?
Monday, 17-Sep-12 08:15:48 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark yuppers. Actually, someone complained that I have too many hours and little seniority. So union had to cut my hours. Too bad no one comes in to full shifts for people and they come right back to me. Lol

@renovatedkitchen This is why I sort of wonder what it'd be like to have a union. IT workers don't have one, because they're godawful at organising or leading.
Monday, 17-Sep-12 08:19:37 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark it's both good and bad. It protects you from your employers, but also protects lazy people.
Monday, 17-Sep-12 08:20:48 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@renovatedkitchen That sounds great. I'm lazy and my employer is abusive! It's lose lose!
Monday, 17-Sep-12 08:21:40 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark lol. I suppose so. Here at least some days you will be working for <8 hours straight, and time flies or you will fall asleep. So it covers for more than breaks you missed while you are busy

@renovatedkitchen One more for the list of reasons why I don't do relationships. Formal ones, anyway. Technically speaking any persistent sustained intra-personal interaction is a "relationship", but you don't really have to think about most of them.
Monday, 17-Sep-12 07:50:25 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel My main reason is that I didn't find anyone I was interested in who was interested in me and lived on the same continent.
Monday, 17-Sep-12 07:53:16 UTC from web-
@hakupony My thoughts on the matter: if you love them, and they love you, isn't that enough? Are the rituals *really* necessary before you can acknowledge what you both already know?
Monday, 17-Sep-12 07:55:55 UTC from web-
@toksyuryel I don't think a realtionship is about rituals - I think it is something you notice you are in at some point but whch happens on itself by the both of ou wanting to spend time together,
Monday, 17-Sep-12 07:58:27 UTC from web-
@hakupony That's the kind of thing I want. I don't call that a relationship though. Thing is, most people are after the rituals when they say they want a relationship.

@toksyuryel Mhm. It's hard to find something that works well. Lot of the times it ends up with an empty wallet and a broken heart.
