  1. This comic is pretty much how I feel about feedback. http://preview.tinyurl.com/n5lfvo

    1. @thelastgherkin that comic is so true. The only worse thing is when people don't even listen to you ad you end up with someone just yammering about how great you are and you can't do anything about it.

      1. @gloomsday I'll be honest, if people actually yammer on about how great you are, you sound pretty cool.

        1. @thelastgherkin I dunno - they just tell me what I write is great, and don't really say much more, so I think they just aren't good at giving feedback. I've had a few better feedback givers point out mistakes, so obviously they are there. The majority of humanity just has no idea how to review. ;-;

    2. @thelastgherkin Yeah, I don't like it when folks ask for my honest opinion on something, because they get it and it rarely ever ends well.

    3. @thelastgherkin I guess I kinda get the comic, yet I also have mixed feelings, realizing that there are experience that we as creators can share with people that we will never experience as a consumer on the same level as they felt it, since we're linked to it as a creator. I'm willing to bet FiM is also one of those cases, as well.

      1. @retl So you're saying that... we can't experience our own stuff the way our audiences do? Because that was so confusingly-worded.

        1. @thelastgherkin: Yep.

          1. @retl I prefer to think of it as giving birth, and sharing the joy of art with a bunch of folks who will coo over it.

            1. @thelastgherkin That's an interesting way of thinking about it. :o

            1. @colfax Eeeeeeeeeexactly. Although sometimes, my art turns out just as planned. Either just as planned or worse than planned, but never better.

            2. @colfax Aaaaand that would totally explain why it's the pics where I'm not thinking out what I'm doing much at all that I tend to actually like a lot.
