    Ok so today I was in theology class and this girl and I were partners and we were discussing about our project and we had the theme of faith which is extremely ironic for me so we had to pick a beatitude that fits the theme, so since I'm the only one in the class that has an idea of anything in religion I picked the beatitude, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." So I was saying about how this beatitude is for you to disregard everything that's not for God so that one day when you die you'll be with God so I linked it with faith, which is believing in something with no evidence towards it, so basically I was saying how you have to make your life bare bones for something that is probably not even true so yeah I was basically a horrible heathen now what I ask all y'all is how can I put that into um, 'kinder' words for my presentation. HALPpppppp I'm no good at appealing to something I'm disproving. :(

            @zeldatra Nononononononononononononononononononononononononononono I still want to say how idiotic it is but put in some BS terms that makes it look nice to Catholics, which is almost impossible but like I was thinking something like, "Even though we are asked to put the luxuries aside for your God which isn't proven, your faith is strong enough for you to do so." Or something BS like that but it sorta sounds weird. :P

                    @greenenchilada Well I didn't write it down but the basis is that faith is when you believe in something without any evidence and I picked the beatitude, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of God." Which means to give all yer stuff minus the bare minimum and then you'll go to heaven and I was saying Catholics follow this and make their life bare-bones and they're taking this from a 4000 year old poorly translated book of desert fairy tales.

                        @greenenchilada Well I'm in a Catholic school in theology and my partner is too a Catholic, like everybody else in the whole school, minus myself. Teachers n' all. So yeah, saying their belief is stupid is not exactly a good idea.

                              @nixter Anywho, I still think actively practicing religion is a waste of time, and recently I find myself questioning faith altogether. In the last decade alone we've had two skyscrapers collapse, two wars, and a certain guy who's name rhymes with "Obama", all in the name of religion.

                            @zeldatra @greenenchilada Don't get me wrong, though, I'm openly atheist and everyone knows it, I just try my best not to get kicked out of school, is all. (Doesn't stop me from challenging both teachers and students about their faith, though!)

        @humanbean Get a theme, pick a beatitude, explain why it makes sense. (Also I have to get scriptures and some form of media but that's just easy, what my problem is to make my reasoning not sound like all Catholics are stupid for putting aside things for their God which has no evidence)
