PART 2/2 So, pro-TWE's are crying out and claiming abuse of power, "everyone's being punished for the actions of a few," etc. Essentially many anti-TWE's will post positive comments towards the decision, then pro-TWE's lash out at them for it. pro-TWE's have called people stupid sheep amongst several other hurtful names, and have insulted everyone and their everything if they claimed anything bad or flawed about TWE. At the end of the day, from how I see it, both sides are making themselves look dumb with all the petty insults. But the worst thing? People supporting TWE because there are pedo-fics on FF, and the ppl that bring this up all say "this move was stupid because you should be focusing on this problem instead!" So their last line of defense is "these other guys are breaking rules too, and your attempt to enforce any other website policy means you approve of THOSE actions."

@crusader8 I imagine that due to the nature of the site, (the fact that users are writers and readers), this /would/ be epic. lol Seems like the removal was the right thing to do. Are foalcon fics not allowed there then?

@pony I'm not really sure. They must be allowed because they would be deleted by pre-readers when submitted otherwise, and there's a mature tag so anyone with the filter on doesn't see fics with any kind of gore or sexual content.

@pony they just pre-screen to make sure you follow the site's basic fic rules, they don't screen quality. Though I think there may eventually come some push-to-shove point after this debacle. pro-TWE's are so butthurt that deletion of TWE-styled groups will ruin the site with "badfics taking over," and so many people complaining, the site may eventually have to pre-screen for some level of quality. I mean, it's getting tothe point which protesters are forming TWE-styled parodies to tongue-in-cheek mock the deletion, and several former TWE members yesterday were purposely upvoting this one really bad fic to satire the site's decision.

@crusader8 Ah fan drama! I always figured fimfiction.net was intentionally open to all authors. If it's based in the US then I don't see any reason they should have to worry about the content of fics unless there are some that blatantly encourage criminal activity in readers. In the end it's privately run so whatever the owner(s) decide goes.

@crusader8 that makes a big difference. I know for a fact that pedophilia as a theme in writing is legally accepted in Britain, but I don't know whether that extends to explicit writing like it does with art there.

@pony If I had it my way, certain things like pedo and certain extents of torture and etc would not be permitted on fimfic. Because, just because ppl have a right to write something doesnt mean they should.
