I saw someone comparing it to "The Terminator," talking about how manhood had gotten so over-the-top that the newest symbol of manness was literally a robot built only to kill, and then -- "Die Hard." With a protagonist who was one man, outclassed, deeply flawed, with actual emotional motivation.
