Well, I will say right now the poetry unit in English is confusing and dull. How should i know the meaning of a poem that is explicitly written to be confusing?

@techdisk That's a major problem literature proffesors have. They can't understand that only the author and people of the same social circle/demographic can accurately get the meaning of a poem or such work. Otherwise is a matter of luck.

@nerthos The only poem i like is "Haikus are easy, but sometimes they don't make sense. Refrigerator."

@techdisk It is funny. We actually met the author of one of the poems we had to study, as they weren't all classical. /Someone/ in our class asked him about his intended meanings, and whether they were anything like what we were being taught. He laughed a great deal and told us "No. Not even close".
