@purplephish20 I don't like their desktop (Unity), but it's a pretty user-friendly starting point. Not being able to run Windows programs can take a little getting used to, but other than that there's no real reason not to. Live CD, easy install, lots of support forums, and Software Center/how Ubuntu handles .deb installers (like .exe files, no terminal needed) makes finding and installing stuff a snap.

@purplephish20 Nice. I like Mint personally, but there's no Wubi equivalent. By Celestia that makes it easy.

@purplephish20 I wouldn't say so. In fact, Ubuntu is one of the better starter distros in most opinions.
