@crusader8 But it totally IS the right thing to do. Teaching a lesson to the evil ones is good. The best way to get rid of a bully is giving him a beating.

@crusader8 Then you send him to jail, where he's humilliated by real tough guys, which breaks his confidence and makes him scared of bullying someone for fear of retaliation. Problem solved.

@nerthos which only repeats the same cycle, not to mentioning the long term of inmates growing an emotional dependency on the unhealthy pecking order of prison life. So if your idea of punishing an individual is to make them unfit to be a productive citizen, you should obviously just shoot everyone that commits a felony.
