Morning ponies! For a change of pace, I'm on an eight year old P4 desktop this morning.

@drewdle sounds like fun!

@nutterguy Yeah I built a server as cheaply as possible ($50), then figured why not try taking it for a spin. So far, it hasn't embarrassed itself. Mind you, I think Xubuntu helps a lot with that.

@elind85 Awesome. I wouldn't have the space for a rack, but would love to build something like that.

@drewdle wow $50 server?
-
@nutterguy Yep. Bought an IBM ThinkCentre off Craigslist. Replaced the 40Gb drive with a 120 I had, and removed the floppy drive and installed a 1Tb storage drive. Now it sits under the laser printer. Aside from the computer itself, I had all the parts already.

@drewdle Sweet. Mind if I ask what you're serving?

@scribus Printer, media streaming, remote backup. It's not serving anything to the wild and wooly web, although I'm sure it could if I had the need.

@drewdle Still groovy. I've been thinking about getting a plug computer & serving (totally legit) torrents or something, if only to do it. :p
