      1. @pony Have you seen real life? Bullies getting away with bullying is what happens 99% of the time. I don't really think there's any point lying to kids about how it's gonna go down.

        1. @ceruleanspark Hadn't thought about it that way. Fair enough

          1. @pony For the 100% accurate experience we'd need a scene of Cheerilee telling the CMC's that "They're just messing around" and that they "don't really mean it" so as to avoid having to take any action.

            1. @ceruleanspark Sometimes the characters seem insightful and intelligent, then somepony acts like Twilight Sparkle in It's About Time.

              1. @pony I'm just saying if you're trying to prepare kids for a decade of bullying in the school system you might as well be upfront about it. I'm just not sure how you could shoehorn "You will feel awful every day and nobody will help you" into a kids show. Though I suppose the good natured condescension of the various "adults" towards the CMC on the topic of cutie marks is fairly representative.

    2. # # @widget Yeah I see him being uninvolved, yet, ironically, he's got the most screen time in the show actually being a father unless you count Big Mac scolding AB.
