@afk OK, you said apps open in the background? Also, use the reply button, makes things easier.
-
@techdisk ya
-
@afk what do you mean by that? They just randomly open? How can you tell?
-
@techdisk i open my apps tab then go to running and there's one i haven't opened on the tab which makes the phone run slower
-
@afk those are important services that make the phone run. There is more than enough ram on an S3 to handle them. If its being slow, hold down the home button to bring up your app switcher and swipe a few apps off of there.
-
@afk if you had it rooted you can use an app to disable startup apps, but rooting is quite a project on anything but a Nexus device.
-
@techdisk i dont think i need 4 music player running in the background or internet radio running in background
-
@techdisk i'll ask one of my friends near by to take a look at it. or i'll just delet some of those apps
-
@afk well, that's why its good to root. Rooting allows you to disable those apps from starting when you turn on your phone, among other things.
-
@techdisk ok, but even when i close them out after a little while they just come back on is the problem
-
@afk but seriously, if you hold down your home button a running apps list should appear. Those are all the apps that are running at full power in the background. Closing them (by swiping them left or right) is much better for reducing lag.
-
@afk Just uninstall what you don't use. That should at least help that problem.
-
@afk well of its stuff like System UI, don't touch it. If its stuff like a music player and it won't go away, root the phone and look up an app called startup manager. That's the only way unless the app's actual settings have an option to disable "run on startup"
-
@redenchilada this too.
-
@techdisk k thanks ill look into it
-
@afk no prob!
