  1. It is interesting how, in my time on the internet, the concept of a "wall of text" has gone from being "Enough text in a single post that you have to scroll to read all of it" to "Longer than 2 tweets"

    1. @ceruleanspark 2 tweets? Most won't read 1.

      1. @flamingpandaomg I set two tweets as the limit because I was once accused of "Flooding the timeline with walls of text" when I posted 3 or 4 tweets in succession

    3. @ceruleanspark Mirrors the shift of internet usage from people using it for work and tech adepts to mostly kids and teenagers.

      1. @nerthos I'm thankful that my "Internet education" came from smart people who weren't afraid to tell me that I was being a retard when I typed like one, and who told me to shut up when I didn't have anything of value to say.

        1. @ceruleanspark Unfortunately people nowadays are too scared of "emotionally hurting the kid" or "not working towards inclusion" when they should be tightening the grip on their kids' educations.

          1. @nerthos Oh good, an education discussion. The "education" in this country is shameful.

            1. @gervase It's shameful in most of western society. It's no longer a matter of countries.

              1. @nerthos I don't even see why it's still elicited as a necessity when it does NOTHING for the general populous.

                1. @gervase Because even though it's faulty, it's better than nothing. Having five dollars is not as good as having a bag of money, but it's better than having an empty pocket.

                  1. @nerthos But not when you're promised the bag of money. That's how revolutions, which we desperately need another of, start.

                    1. @gervase As appealing as the idea of revolution is to me, it'd be a disaster right now. School education is just a basis for you to pick up on the topics you like and learn more about them of your own free will. Consider it an index as opposed to the contents of the book.

                      1. @nerthos Take it from a guy whose three "special talents," if you were, are among the most inflated to specialize in, require among the most training with the exclusion of a few fields, and almost minimal success rate. Music performance, computer programming, and writing are very bad things to be good at. ><
