@critialcloudkicker At the moment, no. If my mate buys it and thinks it's brill I might go round to his and play a bit. Otherwise, no. New Grand Theft Auto and Gran Turismo should provide me with plenty of things to play this year.

@rotation I have ENOUGH to do myself and/or to worry about without cursing at BF4, people who treat it like it is CoD and go full retard/rambo, EA/Dice who want me to pay 50 Euro for the game, and then again 50 for something called Platinum, people who whine and yell at me that I should not even take the Jet if I do not have Flares, watch the game playability go through a massive overhaul when people start whining about the balance, not to mention the bull I am put up with such as the P90 being a PDW and the G36E being a SpecOps kit weapon. What is that about ? Also why the hell is the Avtomat Nikonova less deadly than the M16A1 by default ? Like that makes sense, I am better off walking around in that game with an Armee Universal Gewehr ( AUG ) appearently. *sigh* I REALLY hope that the new BF2142 will do so much better

@rotation Well, Gran Turismo might, if it finishes installing sometime before 2018
-
@ceruleanspark I installed all of GT5 on day 1. Haven't had anything since, apart from patches. My internet connection is good enough for them, despite Sony's best efforts.

@rotation I put the disk in the other week for a laugh. 6gb of required patches. Even after that and the install it still isn't as polished as Forza.
-
@ceruleanspark God bless Sony's "You cannot perform background downloading of this content". I don't really care about Forza. I won't be buying it again.

@rotation ... Forza ... ?
Friday, 17-May-13 09:58:37 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Motorsport. Driving sim for Xbox along the lines of Gran Turismo and Sega GT.

@rotation I have the feeling that XboX and PS3 terms and games are being thrown around and I miss the necessary plugins
Friday, 17-May-13 10:06:21 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Yep. Just remember that there are no racing sims on console.
Friday, 17-May-13 10:12:57 UTC from web-
@rotation Racing sims ?
Friday, 17-May-13 10:17:16 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Yah, like GTR and iRacing. Different from driving sims because they include rules.

@rotation Gran Turismo 6 would have to be very good to win me back over. I've loved that series since 2, but 5 felt like such a step back from what I already had in the Forza franchise that I couldn't get into it at all. Also licenses need to go.
-
@ceruleanspark Licences need to go, standard cars need to go, I'd say chuck driver levels as well. Bring back all the manufacturer specific events, fix endurance, fix tyres... There was a lot wrong with GT5. There's a lot that I don't like about Forza, but I'm nowhere near their target audience, so that's expected.

@rotation When say scrap the standard cars, do you mean remove them, or model them properly?
-
@ceruleanspark Scrap them. There's no point in having two tiers of cars with different features and vastly different levels of detail. Yes, this means that we lose some of my favourite cars, but you need to move on.

@rotation They could certainly bump a bunch of them up to premium. Or drop the inconsistant damage modelling altogether and just focus on the interiors.
-
@ceruleanspark I don't think that external damage is necessary. There is mechanical damage. That should be sufficient. However, with the billions of hours they put into damage, I can't see them cutting it.
Friday, 17-May-13 10:21:06 UTC from web-
@rotation It is, however, by all accounts a licensing nightmare.
-
@ceruleanspark Licensing is starting to change. Manufacturers are starting to pay to see their cars in games. Nissan with GT you're probably aware of, but Mercedes have put a bunch of cash into GT6.

@rotation I wonder howlong it will take before EA/Dice will starting taking money from Smith&Wesson only to have the Casull series ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1tKkRORWog ... or is this customized, anyway it does not matter for the intent of this dash ) appear in the next Battlefield

@rotation It was the damage modelling that I was lead to believe was problematic. I understand that Porsche still won't consent to letting their cars get smashed up in games.
-
@ceruleanspark Porsche still make the 911 and still have an exclusive agreement with EA. Wait for them to move into the 21st century.
Friday, 17-May-13 10:34:12 UTC from web-
@rotation I think you'd be better off waiting for Apple to stop making iPods than waiting for Porsche to stop making 911's
-
@ceruleanspark Porsche make their living from selling racing cars. The 911 is a 'racing car for the road'. Weissach engineers think they've reached the maximum, hence why Porsche have struggled recently. The Cayman is a better racing car than the 911. If the next car is mid-engined, it won't be a 911. It'll be the 960.
