  1. Pirate installers are better than legit installers because they let you decide wether or not to install directx, visual libraries, and other assorted drivers, instead of arbitrarily reinstalling stuff you already have.

    2. @nerthos That's because pirates don't care about technical support. The brute-force "always install" approach to directX and other runtime components has been proven to cut down on support issues.

      2. @ceruleanspark That's why an "advanced options" menu was added in old games, usually with a little sign saying basically "don't touch if you don't know what you're doing because things could not work afterwards"
