  1. I've always wondered why Rarity has a different accent from her parents and Sweetie Belle?

    1. @otakubrony69 a mystery for all time

    2. @otakubrony69 Because you don't inherit accents from parents. You can have them heavily influence it, but in reality Rarity could have developed her speech from anywhere she spent a moderate amount of time at.

        1. @prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline Kind of like how I now sound like a hick if I'm not consciously thinking about it because everybody around me has a ridiculous southern accent.

    3. @otakubrony69 Rarity's accent is what is called Mid-Atlantic. It doesn't occur naturally anywhere. You have to train yourself to speak in it.

        1. @prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline Isn't mid-atlanti just a fake accent brits use to not alienate Americans?

        2. @prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline If you look closely, that's exactly what I said. It has nothing to do with the Mid-Atlantic states, but rather refers to a middleground between the American and British accents - i.e. the middle of the Atlantic ocean.
