      @pegasusjones Yeah. I don't get that sentiment, though. BFF didn't have any show guests (only a few community guests) and it was still a big hit. Something like a thousand attendees. Cons are more about hanging out and having fun anyway. (That and the merch halls.)

      @pegasusjones The meetup group on Facebook is pretty cool when we're having meetups. The problem is "when we're having meetups". We almost never have any and the last time I tried to start one everyone complained about the arcade I picked. (The only meetup since literally October was on /Father's Day/ and was just a group admin getting some folks to beta test his convention ad dressed up as a game.)

      @pegasusjones I wouldn't say in general, but in our area, yeah. Last year we had lots of meetups, then around October they petered out.

        @redenchilada Our group pretty much went from "Guys let's go meet up here!" "Hell yeah a meetup, I'll be there!" to "That place is too small!" "I can't drive half an hour to that place!" "Why doesn't the south side of town get any love? It's not like I could organize my own meetup or anything!"
