  1. I will never understand why productive, teacher-to-student communication in the classroom is met with so much resistance. I swear, someone just went as far as to say, "I don't have an opinion about anything!!" when the teacher just asked her why she didn't agree with an essay we all just read. THIS IS COLLEGE; HAND-HOLDING AND DUCKING FROM CONFRONTATION ISN'T GOING TO HELP YOU.

      1. @awesam15 And don't get me started in what Math classes are like. More "I don't know"s are thrown around the classroom than the number of... numbers inside of the textbook! I hate spoon-feeding GUH

    2. @zarkanorf You're here! Also, the reason is conditioning. Today's society is so poisoned with the idea that a civil discussion is the same as an argument and that arguments should be avoided at all costs because they are bad, that many people can't even bring themselves to state an opinion in the appropiate place to do so.

        1. @flamingpandaomg I'm the opposite. I'm capable of continuing a debate even in the middle of a fistfight.

          1. @nerthos It's easier to argue on the internet because I feel like a big strong man there. Thanks anonymity!

            1. @flamingpandaomg The advantage of the internet is that you have the time to think what you're going to say properly since interactions are text based. The advantage of real life, at least for me, is that people will go out of their way not to start a fight with me, so flip outs are kept to a minimum.
