How much does a katana cost

@pokestrike Decorative katana, not much. Actual katana? >$3000

@nerthos Dammit, I'll just buy some kunais

@pokestrike If you want ninja stuff, a ninja sword which is an utility blade should be far cheaper. Katanas are not ninja weapons.

@nerthos I know their not but you can withdrawal it faster
Friday, 20-Sep-13 01:09:05 UTC from web-
@pokestrike No man. There's practically no difference. It's a matter of a katana requiring a fairly complex process to forge, and being pretty delicate; and a ninja sword being a simple blade with a similar shape, but more resistant and used from everything from killing to climbing.

@nerthos So a katana is a glorified, curved sword that hails in comparison of a cheaper and not as slick sword, wow

@pokestrike No, they're certainly better in regards to piercing, cutting, and actual combat effectiveness, but they're that, specialized combat weapons. They're meant exclusively for combat.

@nerthos Katanas are the sword master race.

@awlpony Depends on what you're going to do with them, really
Friday, 20-Sep-13 01:14:28 UTC from web-
@nerthos Merely upon the base that they're the best balanced blades for most jobs. I like weapons that can be used in many ways equally.
Friday, 20-Sep-13 01:15:56 UTC from web-
@awlpony Only if you're going against unarmored targets. They're hard to use due to the difference in steels used, and fairly brittle in comparison to other swords.
Friday, 20-Sep-13 01:17:17 UTC from web-
@nerthos See I had only accounted for un-armoured targets I suppose. Eh, I prefer gladius types instead, mostly based on how I've learned to fight.

@awlpony A wakisashi might be good for you, then. It's easier not to break it due to the shorter blade.
Friday, 20-Sep-13 01:22:09 UTC from web-
@nerthos As long as it can go through someone more than once it'll serve.
Friday, 20-Sep-13 01:23:48 UTC from web-
@awlpony Oh, certainly. That type of steel can go through dozens before losing edge.
