   When someone refers to gen 4, they aren't referring to Soul Silver, their referring to Diamond/pearl/platinum, do you see what I'm getting at?

         @flamingpandaomg They say Soul Silver to refer to Soul Silver, they say gen 4 to refer to sinnoh, not once have I thought about Soul Silver when someone said gen 4

            @pokestrike Just because YOU haven't thought that doesn't mean that it's wrong. Holy crap. HG & SS were made during Gen 4 and have Gen 4 in them. It makes them Gen 4.

               @flamingpandaomg I've personally known quite a few people who use "Gen 4" to refer to the Sinnoh games, and refer to HG/SS by their names. Granted, they also tend to say "the Sinnoh games" over Gen 4, to avoid the ambiguity, but it's not objectively wrong to say Gen 4 and not include the Gen 2 remakes in that term.
