@nerthos Oh as a tool they are for obvious reasons way outdated; I've always loved calligraphy though and appreciate writing systems that show off an artistic side.

@awlpony The association between both is really old though. Chinese swordsmen were required to know how to write as far as I'm aware, because the belief was that both were connected and you couldn't do the former properly without the latter.
